Here is our first secret to Improving the Odds of Winning MegaMillions.  You see, every single one of those 3,819,816 Five-Number combinations can be played with all 46 MegaBalls.  Multiply 3,819,816 by 46, and you get the overall odds of 175,711,536 for winning MegaMillions.

The sensible approach is to take it one-ball-at-a-time.  You can guarantee getting all five main balls by playing the numbers 1 to 56 in 12 games – This is the kind of approach that has netted me two Million-Dollar plus Lotto wins and 5 main numbers / 4 numbers plus the Powerball in Australia’s Powerball game – And the basis of our Winning MegaMillions Systems.

Taking it up a step, you can play 46 games and Guarantee getting the Mega Ball if you play all 46 Mega Balls.  This would Guarantee at least 20 Winning Numbers from the 5 main balls, if you played all 56 balls at least 4 times.

However, because we create our own Winning MegaMillions Systems, we would push it a little further and get a Triple Guarantee from a 50-game Mega Millions entry.

The first is that above – 20 Winning Numbers from the 5 main balls, spread over our 50 games.  Then we maximise our 50 games to make sure we have at least two winning MegaMillions numbers together (this is possible with 50 games, but not with 46).  Finally, we play all 46 Megaballs to Guarantee getting the Megaball.

Let me explain why this is not a value-for-money solution – I can do it, but I do not recommend it.  Here is why.

Unless you create Winning MegaMillions Systems yourself, you have no way of knowing that the last 10% often doubles the number of games required.  Looking specifically at Guaranteeing 3 or more Winning MegaMillions Numbers here are some facts:

To give a 100% Guarantee of 3 or more winning MegaMillions numbers requires 1,380 Games.  For a 3-number MegaMillion payout, not a good idea.

To give a 99% Guarantee of 3 or more winning MegaMillions numbers requires 887 Games – Almost 500 games more to get that last 1%.

To give a 97% Guarantee of 3 or more winning MegaMillions numbers requires 719 Games (Just over half of the 1,380 games required for a 100% Guarantee).

For a 90% Guarantee of 3 or more winning MegaMillions numbers, the Games required comes down to 507.

My recommendation is a 250-game Winning MegaMillions Systems entry that gives almost a 2-in-3 (64.9% to be precise) chance of at least 3 winning numbers.  This includes every one of the 56 main numbers at least 21 times, giving you at least 105 winning numbers overall  and significantly improving your chances of 3, 4 or all 5 Main balls.

In addition you can play each of the 46 MegaBalls at least 5 times, further improving your chances of a good win.  By tweaking your entry towards picking up small prizes, you obviously improve your chances of a major prize; you have balls 1 and 2, a 64% probability of ball 3 – and then it is over to Lady Luck.  Convinced our Winning MegaMillions Systems are a lot smarter than trusting Lady Luck for everything ?
